The LIC OBC Employees Welfare Association – North Central Zone General Conference was successfully held on 6 June 2026 at Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the sacred land of Lord Shri Krishna. Representatives, delegates, and office bearers from various zones, including the North Zone, East Central Zone, South Central Zone, Western Zone, and other regions, participated enthusiastically in this grand gathering.
The conference was graced by the presence of distinguished Chief Guest Shri Ramashankar Rajbhar Ji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Member of the Parliamentary Committee for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). In his address, he shared valuable insights regarding the various welfare initiatives and progressive measures undertaken by the Government of India for the upliftment and empowerment of OBC communities across the country. He highlighted the Government’s commitment towards social justice, educational advancement, skill development, employment opportunities, and the overall socio-economic development of OBCs. His informative and inspiring speech was highly appreciated by all participants.
Distinguished Guest Shri Vinod Kumar Verma Ji, Former Director of LIC of India, also addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of strengthening the Association. He spoke about the challenges faced by employees and various OBC-related issues within organisations. He stressed that a strong, united, and active Association is essential for effectively representing employees’ interests and safeguarding their rights. His vast experience and valuable guidance inspired all members present at the conference.
The conference was presided over by Shri Chaudhary Yogendra Singh Ji, All India President of the Association. In his presidential address, he elaborated on the present status of the Association, ongoing discussions with Management, challenges faced by employees, and the important role played by the Association in protecting the interests and welfare of OBC employees. He encouraged members to actively participate in Association activities and contribute towards strengthening the organisation at every level.
The South Central Zone was represented by Working President Shri Vijay Kumar Gangaputra, General Secretary Shri D. Srinivas Rao, Treasurer Shri G. Nandikeswara Rao, Joint Secretary Shri Gattu Ramesh, along with delegates from various divisions. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the South Central Zone’s commitment towards the growth and strengthening of the Association.
During his address, Working President Shri Vijay Kumar Gangaputra highlighted the significance of the Association within LIC and emphasised that active participation and wholehearted support from members are the foundations of a strong and effective organisation. He assured the gathering that the leadership remains fully committed to safeguarding the welfare, benefits, constitutional rights, and legitimate interests of OBC employees.
Representatives of the Central Association informed the gathering about the development of the Association’s website and various digital initiatives. Members were encouraged to register through the website and make use of the online grievance redressal system. These initiatives were widely appreciated as important steps towards modernising communication and strengthening member engagement across the country.
General Secretary Shri D. Srinivas Rao delivered an inspiring speech stressing the importance of unity among members. He stated that unity is the greatest strength of any organisation and that a united Association can effectively address challenges and protect employee interests. He also highlighted the importance of developing second-line leadership within the Association. Referring to the example of Shri Kamalakannan Ji of Chennai, he explained how strong leadership at every level is essential for the long-term growth and sustainability of the organisation. He encouraged members to actively participate, update their details, communicate their grievances, and contribute towards strengthening the Association.
The delegates from the South Central Zone expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the excellent hospitality extended by the North Central Zone. The arrangements made for the conference, including accommodation, food, transportation, and overall event management, were highly appreciated by all participants. Special thanks were conveyed to Shri Chaudhary Yogendra Singh Ji, the organising committee, and all volunteers for ensuring the grand success of the event.
